Following the meeting with the Creative Computing Team and Jake, we were advised to shift the attention from the ‘Daily Prompts’ and make a home screen that gives the users more choice of what they want to do when opening the app.
To resolve this we decided to create a home page that gave the user a list of options which included ‘Calendar’, ‘Daily Prompt’ and ‘Profile’. This was my job to design the home page:

The home page will display the Word Of The Day with the date and small quote related to the word of the day, the Calendar which included the current date and a checklist of the tasks the user needs to complete on that day and finally the profile with a short overview of the different Project the user has listed on their profile.
Now the app will include a home page this meant we had to create another page to store the user’s daily prompt history as well as a place where the user can upload their daily entry.
For this page I create two different designs which I will pitch to the rest of the team:
Both these designs had their benefits and disadvantages. The list style allowed for more information which meant I could fit a quote for each day whereas the block style allowed for my days to be stored on one page meaning less scrolling time if the user wanted to check past entries.
Feedback
All thought the Creative Computing team knew that we were thinking about implementing this feature into the application the Creative Media Production team (Heather and Becca) did not know about this feature nor seen the designs. Overall all the ream were really happy with the results Heather particularlly commenting that it highlights the ‘Word Of The Day’ as the main feature without forcing it upon the user.
This will now be implemented into our final app design ready for a usability session at Artworks Media on the 7th May.
