During the final week of the Creative Incubator module we were given the chance to present our app at a showcase, hosted in Artworks Media. Before the showcase everyone was asked to invite people connected to the industry of their app. Each team were then given a space within Artworks Media to present their app to the people invited. A small drinks reception invited people into the room, after which they could view everyones displays.
Our Display
As our app was intended to spark creativity and meant for documenting people’s work we wanted our display to be interactive. A simple iPad application was used to generate a random word and the users were then given 45 seconds to draw the word on paper with a selection of drawing materials. They could then take a picture and upload the image onto the app, which was downloaded onto three demo iPhones.

This setup worked really well as it gave the user a way of interacting with our display. Everyone that visited our stand was interested in taking part, this then linked really well into our app as we could focus on the ‘Word of the Day’, which was the main focus of our app.
As well as this, I made a presentation which showcased the development stages from sketch designs through to the mockups and final designs. Complete Control were particularly interested in this, asking about the software I used when prototyping our app and why we thought it was important to prototype.

Within the presentation were two marketing videos created by the Creative Media Production students. They were able to talk to the industry experts about the meaning behind the videos.
Overall, the Industry Experts really enjoyed our app and loved the idea behind. The final app was also used for them to interact with and allowed myself and Jordan to talk through the different rolls we had in developing the app. A few aspects they really liked was the idea of having events in their local area which advertised events to do with Creativity which could be a great way to make money. As well as this, the guests really liked the social media idea of allowing other users to view people’s Word of the Day ideas, which could be a good way for people to interact with one another. Users could upload their daily prompt, then view others to help inspire future uploads.
Overall this was a really good experience for me to exhibit our final products.
