“Usability testing shows you if something is Usable. Beta testing shows you if people will actually use it.”

This week we were given the chance to present any prototypes we had produced within our team, to the class and our lecturer Jake. Jake had arranged a session for the class but unfortunately, only three others could make it.
This did allow me to present the prototype I had created within Adobe XD using my iPhone and I received some really useful feedback. This was the first time I had given the app to another user, using the device it was designed for. I gathered the feedback from the users and discussed, not only the user interface of the app but how we intended the user to interact with it.
I gave the users a number of small tasks to complete for example ‘reach the profile page’ or ‘add a new project to the user’s profile’. This allowed me to observe them interacting with the app and to see if they were interacting with it as I had expected.
The feedback I received was very beneficial for our team. The feedback was noted within our Trello account for the rest of the team to view. This will be discussed over the next week and I will be altering the app accordingly.
